I grew up in Mumbai and now get to explore it through the eyes of an exile. The frenetic pace of life in this chaotic, crowded, confident city is itself a metaphor for contemporary, arriving India. It's at once a massive sprawl and one big, intense crush.
The photographs you see here are of 'old' Mumbai, which is only part of the surface. My photography of my hometown, like the place itself, is a long work-in-progress.
